All Waste Inc. 2026 Activity Book

The All Waste Inc. Activity Book is designed to entertain children from ages 4 and up.

The activity book features color pages, word searches, mazes, search-and-seek, and options to write a letter to your garbage man.

With additional feedback, I designed all the graphics, from the front to the back of the book, and fun, creative ideas that will entertain children for hours.

The Challenge

Following the completion of the 2025 activity book, I was tasked with developing a new edition for the following year. While this project benefited from my prior experience, it introduced a new challenge: creating original content and visual concepts that felt fresh while remaining consistent with the established brand.

After further discussion, All Waste Inc. identified a thematic direction centered on their roll-off trucks and temporary dumpsters. This focus helped guide the ideation process, ensuring that new concepts would align naturally with the brand’s services and messaging.

With a clearer understanding of both the design process and client expectations, my objective remained consistent: to create a fun, engaging, and on-brand activity book that educates children about garbage and recycling.

The Process

Drawing from my previous experience, I began by sketching concepts for the front and back covers. Building on the success of the cartoon truck mascot from the 2025 edition, I developed a roll-off truck variation to serve as the central visual for the new cover. The back cover design remained largely consistent, with the primary update being the inclusion of temporary dumpsters in place of the standard garbage bin to better reflect the new theme.

For the interior content, we retained several foundational activities—such as a truck coloring page, word search, maze, and a “describe your garbage truck driver” prompt. These familiar elements provide continuity and reinforce the connection between the brand and its audience.

To introduce new material, I designed an additional coloring page and a search-and-find activity. All new illustrations were created from scratch, allowing for a cohesive visual style throughout the book. I also reintroduced a raccoon character from the previous edition, expanding its presence across two pages to strengthen character continuity. The new activities were themed around construction sites, highlighting the use of temporary dumpsters, and incorporated garbage-related objects and animals commonly associated with those environments.

The Outcome

After iterative refinements, the activity book was finalized and prepared for its 2026 print release. Although I did not have the opportunity to review a physical proof, the project strengthened my ability to design for print—particularly in maintaining proper proportions and anticipating how digital layouts translate into physical formats.

This project demonstrates my ability to evolve an existing concept, develop original content within brand constraints, and create engaging, audience-focused design solutions.
